How did I get into Catering?
I have always wanted to have my own business that revolved around food. I worked for the Pappas Companies (Pappasito’s, Pappadeaux, etc) for 11 1/2 years. I learned a lot from working as a manager and catering manager and just held a dream in my heart that some day..I wanted to have something of my own. When we moved to Boerne my husband and I decided that we wanted to cater. So here we are! I love the whole aspect of catering.

How has business been since we opened?
Oh my goodness…we have grown so much and business has gotten better and better with each year. I’m completely amazed when I look back at when we started to now and can’t believe it sometimes. We are truly blessed.

What have been the largest challenges for your business?
Largest challenges I would say at the beginning would be just to get our name out there. I’m a big believer in advertising and spending money on it.. but also that word of mouth is golden. I did a lot of cold calling and getting hung up on, but persistence pays off a lot of times. Still struggle with it from time to time when we get mistaken for another caterer that has a similar name.

Another challenge I would say is staffing. We have always had a great staff that works for us. Many that have been with us since we started. But with big weekends a lot of times we have a hard time finding enough staffing to make us comfortable that we are putting our best out there at each event. We have done great with what we have and are thankful for them.

With COVID in the rear-view, how do you feel you handled the crisis?
We have handled it pretty good. I’ve had some good days and bad, which I imagine everyone has gone through. We worked hard with getting our weddings rescheduled. We were sad that we had cancellations, but I know some just couldn’t be avoided unfortunately. We are hopeful it’s in the rear view and ready to get back to work.

What is your favorite part of your work?
Oh gosh my favorite part…there are several. Being a part of so many weddings each year is really awesome. As far as our food, I love seeing the look on someone’s face when they eat our food and absolutely love it! Brings tears to my eyes every time. I also love catering because it’s never the same each time…new places, people and you can’t even imagine some of things we It’s fun!

What is next for your business? Expansion? Growth? New Services?
We actually had started on an expansion of our cooking area at the start of the COVID stuff. So we will be finishing that up hopefully soon. I would like to boost our delivery options more. Work on some new marketing to focus on our delivery options.
