Young entrepreneur, Halli Gahm, age 13, has been in business making and selling Scrunchie Warehouse products. We asked her a few things about her business.

What’s your age, grade and what school do you attend?
I am 13 years old and I am a 7th grader at Voss Middle School.

What do you do?
I am the owner and creator of Scrunchie Warehouse, where I hand make all of my scrunchies and purchase all of my materials on my own.

When did you start this?
I have been running Scrunchie Warehouse since April 2020.

How did you get into making scrunchies?
Scrunchie Warehouse was born in the middle of the Coronaviris and was the result of my mom and I creating new things by sewing with the materials that we had on hand and that were donated by neighbors (since we couldn’t go to stores). People were intrigued by my scrunchies and I decided to turn it into my business! My determination to use my creativity is what got me started making scrunchies and turning it into something much bigger, my very own small business.

What do you enjoy the most about your business?
What I find fun about my business is the ability to put all of my ideas and creativity into my product for others to enjoy! There are so many different decisions I have to make creatively and financially, and it is really awesome how I am able to call all the shots, and determine what is best for my business.

Who has been the best help with your business challenges?
My parents help me in operating Scrunchie Warehouse by guiding me in the right direction for my business since they have a business of their own. They also help me by letting me use some of their social media platforms for Scrunchie Warehouse advertising.

What’s next for your business? Growth? Goals?
Some of my goals for Scrunchie Warehouse is to have more local businesses carry my products, and get into more online sales by building a website. In hopes I can accomplish these goals, I would also like to double my profits from last year.

How has the community supported you?
My community has supported me by several local businesses carrying my product and through word of mouth networking!

What are your college plans?
The college I would like to go to is Texas A&M University, and I would like to go there to get my masters degree in business.

What are your career plans?
The career I would like to pursue when I am older is definitely something in the business world but I am still trying to figure out what would best suit me!
